A blaze gutted a school building inside the Abkasa National High School in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City, late Tuesday evening.
Based on a report released by the Bureau of Fire Protection Bacolod (BFP-Bacolod), the fire call was received around 9:34 p.m.
BFP-Bacolod arson investigator, Senior Fire Officer 2 (SFO2) Joeny Michael Victoriano, said, in his report, the fire hit the school’s gym and a fireout was declared just before 10:00 p.m.
Victoriano estimated the damage to around P10,000.
The BFP is still conducting an investigation as to the cause of the blaze and have also made a formal recommendation to the school’s staff to have the electrical wiring of their buildings checked, in order to avoid such incidents from happening./WDJ
