A 17-year-old teenager was wounded after he was reportedly hacked and stabbed several time during a birthday celebration at Purok 6, Daan Banwa, Barangay 9, Victorias City, Saturday evening.
Police did not reveal the victim’s name but confirmed he is a resident of the said village.
Investigators from Victorias City police said, at around 8:40 p.m., they answered a call from the Kaayong Lawas Medical Clinic, reporting there was a stabbing incident in Barangay 9 and were treating the victim inside the clinic.
Cops were immediately dispatched to where the party was being held and, upon arrival, arrested the suspect identified as 54-year-old Bonifacio Bello.
Based on initial investigation by police, the victim arrived at the residence of Rean Reyes, who was celebrating her 18th birthday.
After dinner, at around 7:30 pm, the victim was having a conversation with one of his friends, when he was suddenly stabbed repeatedly by Bonifacio who was allegedly armed with a bolo.
The victim was rushed to the said clinic after sustaining several stab wounds in the body.
He was later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) after his condition stabilized.
Police are currently investigating the motive behind the assault, while Bello is still detained at the Victorias City Police Station awaiting the filing of criminal charges against him./WDJ
