AA Electrical and Capitol routed their respective opponents during the quarterfinals to earn semifinals seats in the ongoing D League-Boston Cup Basketball Tournament at the STI-West Negros University gym.
AA Electrical survived FilSino-ESJ, 74-71, behind Renier Palmares’ 20 points and Dave Andog’s 11 points after leading throughout the game.
FilSino got a slim edge in the second period with an 18-17 run on Richard Uy and Matthew Yap’s 5 points, but Palmares got 12 points to keep AA on top at the break, 30-28.
Andog scored all his 11 points in the third to boost AA to a 26-11 blast for a 56-39 dominance going into the final period.
However, Uy and Marc Lo delivered 8 points each while Ramon Ortigosa added 7 points to anchor FilSino’s 32 points as AA only tallied 18 points with Palmares’ 8 markers – but enough to survive.
Contributing to the winner’s tally were Angelo Espanola with 8 points, and Francis Ramos and Miguel Abaring with 7 each.
Meanwhile, Uy paced FilSino with 13 points; Ortigosa and Yap added 11 each; and Lo had 10.
