Province providing free transportation for their employees during transport strike

The provincial government of Iloilo will be providing free transportation for their employees affected by the planned transport strike set to take place from June 5 to 6.
“It will be business as usual, there is no transport holiday,” said Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. “Employees have to report to their offices.”
In order not to disrupt daily operations, the governor recalled all of its vehicles, effective Friday, and cancelled all travel orders during the strike as contingency measure.
Defensor ordered the vehicles be put on standby in designated areas to serve its employees and for emergencies.
Pick-up points will be in operation from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. with vehicles from the Provincial Engineer’s Office will be designated at Guimbal Plaza, Janiuay Plaza, Maasin Plaza, Mina Plaza, Alimodian/San Miguel Plaza, Pototan Plaza, and from the Provincial Capitol to the Provincial Equipment Pool in Sta. Barbara.
Vans will also be used to pick-up employees from Pavia People’s Terminal in Ungka, Tikod Terminal in Baldoza, Oton Plaza, Mohon Terminal, Guimbal Plaza, and Savanna Iloilo.
An assistance desk will also be manned by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office in order to respond to stranded employees.
