According to Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr., the employee of the provincial government that previously tested positive for drugs will be dismissed.
“His contract will be terminated,” Defensor said, pointing out the said employee does not have the opportunity to appeal his case.
He also urged other employees who may be engaged in illegal drugs to stop.
Alma Ravena, chief of the Human Resource Management and Development Office, earlier said the revelation came following a drug symposium was organized last month. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region VI (PDEA-6) conducted random drug testing among those in attendance, which included the said employee.
Defensor vowed random drug tests will continue and the provincial government will take the necessary actions, including the termination of contracts./WDJ
