In light of yesterday’s deadly incident at Resorts World Manila, which killed 36 people, Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. said it is “not enough” for President Rodrigo Duterte to declare Martial Law throughout the rest of the country.
“[The suspect] was a ‘high roller’ and probably suffered huge losses,” the governor asserted. “That’s why he targeted the casino chips.”
He said the incident should “serve as a lesson” for law enforcement, claiming the event could have been avoided if police were provided with proper security requirements, such as a K-9 unit.
“Having dogs for the police force is a very good deterrent,” Marañon stated./WDJ
