Following the deadly attack at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City, which killed at least 36, Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) acting director, Police Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, ordered a complete review of security protocols.
In a phone interview yesterday afternoon, Wanky said police officers assigned at the police stations across the city are expected to have perfect attendance, while assigned to beat patrols must frequently pass vital installations in the city, such as hospitals and government offices.
Following the declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao, Wanky also stated they have been improving their police visibility, especially in areas frequented by tourists, such as hotels, parks, and malls.
According to reports, the occurrence in Pasay City is not being considered terrorism, as the suspect, who took his own life following the incident, may have been suffering from gambling and drug addiction./WDJ
