IPM-CDC trucks used for transportation will be clean, equipped with chairs –Mayor

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia clarified yesterday his plan to deploy 10 IPM-Construction and Development Corporation (IPM-CDC) trucks to provide transportation on June 5, the date of the planned jeepney operator strike.
In a statement, Leonardia stated they will deploy 10 clean trucks from IPM, with clean chairs, together with two city-owned tourist buses.
These 12 vehicles will pick up passengers from selected barangays and from other strategic areas where these buses and trucks pass, and drop the passengers near their workplaces from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Leonardia also confirmed they have yet to decide on whether or not to suspend the opening day of classes, adding, he is scheduled to meet with officials of the Department of Education, the Philippine National Police, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, the Land Transportation Office, among others./WDJ
