303rd Infantry Brigade (303IB) commander, Colonel Eliezer Losañes, ordered an investigation into the shooting incident in Barangay Canlusong, EB Magalona, where a member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) allegedly killed two barangay tanods.
In an interview with Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod yesterday morning, Losañes said the incident is an isolated case, assuring locals his group will look into the matter.
He added, they constantly remind CAFGU members during their training to stay out of trouble.
On Monday evening, CAFGU member Renante Villarosa, allegedly fought with local residents during the village’s fiesta celebration.
Villarosa allegedly returned to his detachment to pick up his M14 service rifle and shot Barangay Tanods Armando Labto, Jr., and Rogelio Bendol, killing them on the spot.
EB Magalona police are currently conducting a follow-up operation against Villarosa./WDJ
