The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) Committee on Laws, Ordinances and Good Government will be conducting hearings on Thursday, June 1, regarding the proposed second legislative district for the city.
According to City Councilor Caesar Distrito, chairman of the committee, Bacolod Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya requested the opinion of both the mayor and the SP regarding the potential second district.
Agencies including the Bacolod City Engineering District of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH); along with representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Commission on Elections (Comelec), the Philippine Statistics Authority, and the city’s 61 barangays were also invited to the hearings.
“We would also like to hear the sentiments or opinions of the stakeholders,” he explained. “It would be good if all the opinions and the voice of all sectors will be incorporated in the report.”
Also expected at the hearing are representatives from Gasataya’s office, the Office of the Mayor, the City Administrator’s Office, the City Planning and Development Office, the City Legal Office, the City Engineer’s Office, and the City Assessor’s Office. /WDJ
