Ang Ilongga Awards nominations deadline extended until tomorrow

The nominations deadline for the Search for Outstanding Woman Community Leader 2017, or the Ang Ilongga Awards, has been extended until tomorrow, May 31.
Now in its second year, the annual search, organized by the Junior Chamber International Iloilo Ilang-Ilang, in coordination with the Gender and Development Unit of the Province of Iloilo, aims to identify and recognize women leaders with extraordinary accomplishments creating positive change and sustainable solutions to issues and concerns affecting their community.
Nominees should be least 18 years old and a resident of the province, who excel in the fields of community justice; peace and order; health and wellness; education, culture, and arts; entrepreneurship; agriculture; fisheries and forestry; or disaster risk reduction and management.
Criteria for the awards are comprised of 30 percent for leadership, 20 percent for female empowerment, 20 percent for community and civic involvement, and 30 percent for social impact.
The winner receives P10,000, while P8,000 is awarded to the runner-up and P5,000 for third place.
Nominees will be interviewed on June 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in VIP Room 2, located on the second floor of the Casa Real de Iloilo
