3rd Albee Cup Victorias City leads

Dr. Francisco B. Benitez, Philippine Women’s University president and younger brother of Negros Occidental 3rd District Rep. Alfredo Benitez, took part in the ceremonial toos to kick off the 3rd Albee Cup. He is joined by Victorias City Mayor Frederick Palanca, Silay City Mayor Mark Golez, EB Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon, and Talisay City Councilor Gab Villacin.

Victorias City currently leads the ongoing 3rd Albee Cup Inter-LGU Sportsfest, following basketball and volleyball events, which took place over the weekend at the Natalio G. Velez Sports and Cultural Center in Silay City.
Victorias City won in both the 39-and-below and 40-and-above men’s basketball categories, defeating EB Magalona and Silay City, respectively; along with the women’s volleyball event, where they topped Talisay City.
In men’s volleyball, EB Magalona defeated Victorias City, while Talisay City beat Murcia.
During the weekend’s opening ceremonies, Silay City Mayor Mark Golez welcomed all the participants, while Dr. Francisco B. Benitez, Philippine Women’s University president and younger brother of Negros Occidental 3rd District Rep. Alfredo Benitez, the event’s namesake, addressed those gathered.
The next matches are set to take place between June 3 and 4./WDJ
