A drug personality who had previously surrendered under Oplan Tokhang was caught in the act of selling illegal drugs through a joint operation by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Regional Public Safety Battalion-18 (RPSB-18), and the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) in Barangay Tampocon II, Ayungon, Negros Oriental, Monday afternoon.
Police identified the suspect as 34-year-old Nexon Ruiz, a tricycle driver and resident of Barangay Tiguib in the said town.
In an official report released by Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18), they said Ruiz previously surrendered to Ayungon police and was previously on the town’s drugs watchlist.
Operatives arrested the suspect after he handed one sachet of shabu to an undercover police officer, in exchange for P500.
The anti-drug operatives also seized three more sachets of shabu from the suspect, with an estimated weight of .20 grams and worth P2,000.
Ruiz faces illegal drugs charges and is detained at the Ayungon Municipal Police Station./WDJ
