For the region’s new top cop, a peaceful Western Visayas will continue to propel economic growth.
“Development and peace always go together,” said Chief Supt. Cesar Hawthorne Binag, director of Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6).
Binag is overseeing units of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces.
He particularly mentioned the robust changes in the city and province of Iloilo.
“I told my police to match the efforts,” Binag added.
Binag, who took over the post from Chief Supt. Jose Gentiles Monday, May 15, vowed to sustain the campaign against illegal drugs, criminality, and corruption.
Gentiles has been promoted to a two-star general and is now chief of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO) for Mindanao./WDJ
