Despite his retirement, outgoing Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18) director Police Chief Supt. Renato Gumban urged residents of the Negros Island Region (NIR) to continue texting him if they receive information of illegal drug activities in their area.
Gumban said they could contact him through his hotline number 09188001985 and report to him any police officials, or private individuals who are into drugs.
He further claimed to have more than 21 informants in the region communicating to him, in which several operations and apprehensions were made thanks to those informants.
He added he has also relieved about 65 policemen who are allegedly involved in illegal drug activities.
Gumban was formally replaced yesterday by Police Chief Supt. Edmund Gonzales. The former regional top cop is scheduled to celebrate his birthday and retirement on May 21./WDJ
