JSY Transport survives ACCI to capture FilSino Class A title

JSY Transport came out with a huge game in the playoff period to win from behind against AACI Trading, 70-64, and capture the Class A championship title of the FilSino-All Asian Countertrade 2nd Conference Basketball Tournament.
With a 48-42 lead at the end of the third period, AACI Trading unleashed a 7-0 run to start the final quarter courtesy of Sukraj Sekhon and Marc Lo for a 55-42 lead with 7:00 minutes in the game clock.
But JSY responded with a 12-0 run with a back to back triple from Michael Ang to cut ACCI lead to a point, 55-54.
Both teams continued to trade baskets until Ang’s triple broke a 61-all deadlock and gave JSY their first taste of the lead at 64-61 with 54 seconds remaining.
Trading’s Matt Deles tied the game but Yan-yan Dy converted a triple and Arnold Laureño made 3 free throws to seal the game.
Ang led JSY Transport with 15 points, all from the 3-point territory; Dy and Laureño backstopped with 14 points each. Meanwhile, Deles topscored AACI Trading with 16 markers.
In Class B action, Royal Star Trading won the championship with an 82-61demolition of JSY Countertrade.
Talisay City Police Chief Adonis Rosales led Royal Star with 19 points while Janjan Young and Kevin Camato added 11 points apiece.
Meanwhile, Clarence Quingco was the lone double digit scorer for JSY Countertrade with 10 points./WDJ
