Jail visitor nabbed for smuggling shabu in Dumaguete

A jail visitor was apprehended by members of the Dumaguete City police and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) after he allegedly tried to smuggle almost P346-K worth of suspected shabu at the Dumaguete City District Jail, Tuesday afternoon.
Police identified the suspect as 30-year-old Fernando Katada Flores, a resident of Barangay Taclobo of the said city.
Dumaguete City police said Flores arrived in the district jail at around 12:45 pm in order to visit his relatives inside.
However, jail guards discovered he was carrying one big sachet of suspected shabu during a routine search, along with P4,000 in cash.
The jail guards reported the suspect was concealing the items in his underwear.
Flores is facing illegal drugs charges, and is detained at the Dumaguete City Police Station./WDJ
