Two alleged drug suspects were arrested by operatives of the Sagay City Police Station following a buy-bust operation at Crossing Cesco, Barangay Rafaela Barrera, in the said city, late Monday evening.
Police identified the suspects as 36-year-old Jonel Tapi-on, a resident of the said barangay; and Jake Cordova, 31, a resident of Purok Baybayon, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Sagay City police chief, Police Chief Insp. Robert Mansueto, said they nabbed Tapi-on after he yielded one sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover cop in exchange for P300.
Cordova, a relative of the suspect, was also nabbed as he was inside Tapi-on’s residence at the time of the operation.
A search of the suspects and the house further yielded six small and one big sachets of suspected shabu, and suspected drug money worth P1,420.
Both Tapi-on and Cordova are facing drug charges, and are detained at the Sagay City Police Station./WDJ
