The Cadiz Sluggers came out with a solid game over the weekend with a 6-2 victory over reigning Palarong Pambansa champions and Singapore-bound Domingo Lacson National High School softbelles in the ongoing Negros First Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. Inter-Hacienda Softball League at the Hda. Lourdes Ballpark in Manapla.
With the win over the earlier favored Lacsonian softbelles, the Cadiz-based batters, who now lead Group A standings, sent a strong message that they want to take home the title.
The Sluggers exploited the undermanned Lacson side, whose players underwent interviews with the Little League of the Philippines in relation to their upcoming Asia-Pacific Softball Regional Tournament in Singapore next month.
On the other hand, Hda. Cuaycong also secured the No.1 spot of Group B with another solid game on Saturday after an 8-3 victory over Hda. Nahulog./WDJ
