AA Electrical, Capitol post wins in Boston Finance Cup

AA Electrical came out with a huge 43-point blast in the second half to pull away with an 84-70 victory over Bacolod Basketball Club (BBC), while Capitol played a solid third quarter beating Boston Finance, 75-63, at the ongoing D League-Boston Cup Basketball Tournament.
Klint Quires fired 8 points while Roy Pedreso and Nicol Medina added 5 apiece as AA Electrical posted a slim 22-21 lead in the opening quarter; Alan Jaena, Philip Abong and Ronan Batralo scored 6 points each for BBC.
In the second quarter, Marvin Tan nailed 3 triples and a split from the stripes to lead BBC’s 17-point run, but Francis Ramos also sunk 3 treys as AA tied the game at 38-all at the break.
Miguel Bejemino and Dave Andog, however, connected 6 points apiece to spearhead AA’s well-balanced offense of 25 points while Reygin Oquina had 6 points to lead BBC’s limited scoring of 17 points at the end of third.
With momentum at hand, Quires sizzled with another 8 points as AA Electrical turned their back at BBC with a getaway 21-15 run.
Quires paced AA Electrical with 16 points; Bejemino added 10; Ramos – 9; Medina – 7; and Marniel Toleco and Andog – 6 each.
Abong, on the other hand, had 14 points; Tan – 10; and Jaena, Batrolo, Jade Ayupan, and Oquiana had 6 each.
In the other match, both teams played almost even as Boston edged Capitol at the break, 35-34, before the latter earned some break in the third to take control of the driver’s seat entering the playoff period, 68-49.
Boston tried to take back the maneuver but Capitol fought hard to keep the upper hand and pulled away with a convincing victory.
Herbert Ferrer and Sonny Boy Lacuesta had 11 points each to anchor Capitol; Jesmar Las Piñas added 8; and Lito Tonogbanua – 7.
Meanwhile, Runel Galanida led Boston Finance with 16 points; JR Mijare added 12; Bebot Balono – 11; and Jun Jun Rapiz – 10./WDJ
