The remains of a man believed to have killed himself was found yesterday morning, at Purok Kaingin, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.
Police have refused to identify the fatality but confirmed he is 26 years old and a resident of Sagay City.
Based on the initial investigation made by Police Station 8 (PS8), the victim’s distant relative, identified as Rheumark Espinosa, was tending to his fighting cocks at the back of their house.
Espinosa then called his live-in partner Emily Esperga to get a rope for one of his fighting cocks inside an abandoned structure just eight meters adjacent to their house.
When Esperga entered the structure, she found the remains of the victim hanging from the wooden truss, prompting her to call for help from Espinosa and their neighbors.
Police recovered the victim’s mobile phone, a wrist watch, and the rope used by the victim to hang himself.
PS8 is further investigating the incident, while the victim’s family in Sagay has been informed./WDJ
