A surrenderee of the government’s anti-drug campaign was arrested after he was caught in the act of selling illegal drugs in Barangay Ermita, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, early Monday morning.
Police identified the suspect as 41-year-old Victor Alicante, a resident of Purok 2 in the said barangay.
San Carlos City Police Director, Police Supt. Arturo Fullero, said Alicante previously surrendered to police on August 4, 2016 in connection to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Project Double Barrel.
Fullero said Alicante is classified as a street level pusher, and when they received a tip-off that he returned to the illicit activity, Fullero ordered a buy-bust operation to arrest him.
Cops recovered two sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 0.3 grams and valued at P3,000, the buy-bust money amounting to P500, and suspected drug proceeds amounting to P100.
Alicante is facing illegal drugs charges, and is detained at the San Carlos City Police Station./WDJ
