PC bowlers captured the crown of the just-concluded 3rd Kami Mga Hubin Inter-squad Trios Duckpin Bowling League at the Goldenfield Commercial Complex Super Lanes in Bacolod City.
The win was PC’s first major achievement since they started to participate in the KMH-organized bowling event, last year.
The PC squad composed of Arlou Dionio, Ernesto “Bhoy” Gabales, Wenfred Palenge and Claire Gabales earned the title when it stunned then twice-to-beat Sport Journ team of James Henry Toga, Hernand Garciniego, Rommel Galvan, Henceboy Cestina and Nilo Maghari in the battle for the title, 341-323, and 325-314.
The two squads battled evenly in the first half of play but the champion squad showed their class in the end game to bring home the bacon.
Dionio carried the scoring cudgels for PC with 216 points, while Garciniego starred for the losing team with 213.
The champion team defeated No.2 KMH Team in the semifinals, 317-315, to grab the opportunity to challenge Sports Journ for the top prize.
KMH is bannered by Peter Deocadez, Joval Damascos, Doc Elegado and Sharon Sioson.
On the other hand, City High – Lacson combined ruled in the consolation prize contest.
Sports Journ established the record in the team’s highest single and triple with 388 and 1,018 pin falls.
PC starter Dionio booked the individual highest single with 146, while Garciniego recorded the tournament’s highest pinning and triple with 95 and 385 points, respectively./WDJ
