A motorcycle driver was declared dead on the spot after he was ran over by a cane truck along Kilometer 135, Barangay San Isidro, Calatrava town, Negros Occidental, Saturday.
Police identified the fatality as 53-year-old town resident Joerge Rabago from Barangay Patun-an.
Calatrava town police chief, Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, said based on their initial investigation, Rabago was allegedly driving too fast and lost control of his motorcycle.
Since Rabago was not wearing any helmet, Batusbatusan said his head was run over by a cane truck, instantly killing him.
The cane truck driver, Jether Alvarez, immediately surrendered to police following the incident.
Batusbatusan added they are just waiting for the victim’s family to decide if they will file criminal charges against Alvarez./WDJ
