A resident of Barangay 23 in Bacolod City was killed after he accidentally shot himself, early Sunday morning.
Police identified the fatality as 26-year-old Paulo Agustin.
Police Station 4 (PS4) commander, Senior Inspector Elmer Bonilla, said Agustin was inside his friend’s house in the said barangay when the incident happened.
The victim’s friend, Adonis Cristales, disclosed to police that the victim usually goes to their house for their drinking sessions.
Cristales said, while the victim was lying in the sofa drunk, his .45 caliber firearm accidentally went off hitting Agustin in the head.
Bonilla said Cristales was taken into custody by police as part of an ongoing investigation.
Police recovered a loaded. 45 caliber pistol with seven live ammunitions.
Cristales is scheduled to undergo paraffin test./WDJ
