Gov. Rhodora Cadiao of Antique province will be the incoming chairperson of the Regional Development Council in Western Visayas (RDC-6).
According to Cadiao, she is still awaiting appointment papers from the office of President Rodrigo Duterte.
The governor will take the leadership role from National Economic and Development Authority-6 (NEDA-6) Regional Director Ro-Ann Bacal, who has been serving as acting RDC-6 chair since middle of 2015.
Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. of Negros Occidental province used to be the RDC-6 chairperson.
However, Marañon ceased to be the RDC-6 chairperson when an executive order of the former Aquino administration created the Negros Island Region./WDJ
