An alleged operator of an illegal numbers game was arrested by members of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Gambling Task Force (PAIGTF), following a raid at Fatima Village, Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, late Monday evening.
Police identified the suspect as 58-year-old Fortunato Racho, a resident of the said barangay.
PAIGTF chief, Police Chief Inspector Mark Anthony Darroca, said they conducted a saturation drive, when a large number of law enforcement officers are deployed to a specific area, after receiving a report regarding rampant illegal gambling activity in the said village.
Following Racho’s arrest, they recovered several gambling paraphernalia, tally sheets with different number combinations, and around P400 worth of suspected bet money.
Racho is facing illegal gambling charges, and is detained at the San Carlos City Police Station./WDJ
