The annual Panaad sa Negros Festival, which closed over the weekend, posted a total sales figure of P18.4 million, a 72 percent increase from last year’s tally of P10.7 million.
According to a report released by the provincial government, the majority of sales came from the local government unit (LGU) pavilions, totaling P9.98 million. Cadiz City came out as the top grosser among LGUs, posting P1.31 million in sales.
Food kiosks came in a distant second with P3.79 million in sales, followed by the eco-garden show with P1.71 million and the organic village with P1.55 million.
April 29, the eighth day of the festival, proved to be the most profitable, with nearly P3 million in sales.
Meanwhile, the newly-installed Bamboo Village saw total sales reach P49,836, also peaking on April 29, with a single-day haul of P9,400./WDJ
