The Negros Island Region (NIR) picked up a bronze medal in the secondary girls 4x400m run, while Southern Tagalog broke last year’s record and took gold at the 2017 Palarong Pambansa in Antique.
The Southern Tagalog squad of Jesser Lumapas, Millifagne Christine Matchino, Charmaine de Ocampo and Elvievane Gobotia clocked in at 3:54.37, breaking the 3:56.43 record set by Eastern Visayas last year.
Meanwhile, the NIR team of Angel Ann Pranisa, Bernalyn Bejoy, Clarine Camahig and Ma. Isabel Oqueriza registered a time of 4:01.03.
Eastern Visayas took silver.
Southern Tagalog and NIR mirrored the same result in the secondary boys relay, with Western Visayas taking silver./WDJ
