The Negros Island Region (NIR) men’s basketball team defeated the Davao Region, 70-66, and secured a spot in the semifinals of the ongoing 2017 National PRISAA Championships in Zambales.
The Negrenses came into the final period ahead by 12 points, but saw Davao rally to close the gap, but it was not enough to claim victory.
Roy Villarias led NIR with 17 points, followed by John Nermal with 16.
NIR next faces Central Visayas, while, on the other side of the draw, Calabarzon meets Western Visayas./WDJ
