A fist fight erupted between friends at Purok Tamsic, Barangay Miranda, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, yesterday morning.
Police identified the victim as 63-year-old Dominador Placido, a resident of the said barangay.
Pontevedra police said the victim, along with several companions, were drinking inside Placido’s house, when a misunderstanding occurred between Placido and the suspect, 30-year-old Eduard Astrologo.
The argument soon became a fist fight, wherein Placido was hit in the face and fell hard onto the pavement, resulting in a head injury.
Placido was rushed to the Valladolid District Hospital following the incident, but was soon transferred to another medical facility in Bacolod City after doctors determined his injuries were serious.
Astrologo, meanwhile, was apprehended by Pontevedra police and could face assault charges./WDJ
