The Negros Island Region (NIR) softball teams remained undefeated after the elementary team went into extra innings to defeat the National Capital Region (NCR), 5-4, in the ongoing 2017 Palarong Pambansa in Antique.
The defending champion NIR secondary girls team earlier defeated Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao and the Ilocos Region.
The Negros Occidental secondary softball team currently has the most championships in Palarong Pambansa history./WDJ
