A resident of Talisay City was rushed to the hospital last Monday evening after he was allegedly mauled and hacked by a group of thugs at Hacienda Dos Hermanos, Barangay Katilingban, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the victim as 23-year-old Reyland Pascual, a resident of the said barangay.
Talisay City police said Pascual went outside his house to confront three suspects who were allegedly speeding around the area, since it is a thickly-populated place.
However, the suspects allegedly dismounted their motorcycles and started mauling Pascual.
One of the suspects pulled out a machete and hacked the victim in the back before fleeing on their motorcycles.
Pascual was rushed to the Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Bacolod City for treatment, after sustaining a hack wound on the nape of his neck.
Talisay police added they have identified the three suspects and are now conducting a follow-up operation against them./WDJ
