According to Negros Occidental Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator Ma. Lina Sanogal, Moises Padilla will not be taking part in this year’s Panaad sa Negros Festival, scheduled from April 22 to April 30, however, town officials have not disclosed their reasons for skipping the annual event.
“Moises Padilla is currently one of the poorest local government units in the province,” she said. “It’s hard to speculate as to their reason.”
Sanogal noted provincial officials never received an official letter indicating the move, but town representatives already said they would not be opening their pavilion nor participating in events.
Meanwhile, La Carlota City said they will not be participating in any events at the festival as their Pasalamat Festival will be going on at the same time. However, they will have a pavilion at the provincial event./WDJ
