A total of 109 centenarians were each provided yesterday with a P100,000 incentive from the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Region VI (DSWD-6), as part of their recently-launched Western Visayas regional incentive program for centenarians, or those who have reached the age of 100.
When asked about the secret to his longevity, 103-year-old Bonifacio Lumawag of San Dionisio credited eating a lot of vegetables.
Meanwhile, Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. and Provincial Welfare Officer Neneth Pador pledged an additional P30,000 incentive to each beneficiary./WDJ
