An endangered sunfish was recovered by fishermen off the coast of Barangay Banago after it was caught in their nets, yesterday afternoon.
Barangay Banago Secretary Dionisio Dela Cruz said the fish was estimated to have a length of around five feet, with a width measuring about four feet.
Dela Cruz said the fish also had several wounds across its body.
Local residents later released the fish back to open water.
He added it is the first time they saw the fish in their waters./WDJ
