During a press conference yesterday, Bacolod Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya revealed the 1st Greg Gasataya Basketball Cup will begin this Saturday, April 22 at the STI-West Negros University (STI-WNU) gym.
According to the congressman, the tournament is divided into two categories, including 12-and-under and open categories.
P20,000 will be awarded to the winners of the open tournament, with P15,000 and P10,000 going to second and third place, respectively.
STI-WNU will also award a sports scholarship to the Most Valuable Player of each category.
Bacolod City Councilor Dindo Ramos serves as tournament director, while Israel Salanga serves as tournament commissioner.
According to Ramos, a total of 26 teams from different barangays have confirmed their participation and Gasataya’s office would be providing free uniforms./WDJ
