Despite a series of tune-up events leading up to the 2017 Palarong Pambansa, set to begin this weekend in Antique, Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) Vice Chair for Sports Jose Montalbo believes the Negros Island Region (NIR) secondary girls volleyball team still has a lot of work to do.
“The team was relatively new, as each of the players were recently appointed to join the selection team,” he said. “We still have a few days to go before the next competition and our players will be in a lot of non-stop practice, especially in their positioning as well as exercises to fine-tune their skills and agility.”
BTTHS will be providing six players to the NIR secondary girls squad, namely, Rhean Hebraica Almendralejo, Kiesha Dazzie Bedonia, Shane Carmona, Nohlin Jenniper Jundana, Joan Marie Monares, and Marianne Sotomil. They are joined by MM Jowel Therese Malignat from the St. John’s Institute (SJI), Marite Espina from the Livingstone International School, Christine dela Cruz and Shaira Mae Jardio of Talisay City, Marhis Anne Casain of Silay City, and Baby Jane Soreno of Tanjay City./WDJ
