In response to claims made by the Task Force Crusaders (TFC) that the Land Transportation Office-Region VI (LTO-6) has not taken any action against fixing, as per recommendations of the Regional Anti-Fixing Team (RAFT), LTO-6 Director Roland Ramos said the specific cases occurred before he took office.
“The cases in question were occurrences in 2016, while then-Regional Director Dennis Singzon headed the [office],” he explained. “During that time, the head of the Regional Law Enforcement Service (RLES) was Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan.”
Ramos, however, has since issued a memorandum to conduct an investigation.
“The investigation will be done within six months,” he explained. “Expecting it to be finished by August.”
John Chiong, TFC national deputy commander, earlier asked the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas and the central LTO to conduct an investigation on inaction by the head of LTO-6 surrounding alleged widespread “fixing” by its 25 personnel.
The TFC official stressed the non-action will give more opportunities for irregularities and anomalies./WDJ
