The Negros Island Region (NIR) secondary girls basketball team defeated Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS), 25-18, 22-25, 25-23, to capture the St. Ignatius Invitational Volleyball Cup at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Lux Oriens.
The NIR squad, which is preparing for the upcoming Palarong Pambansa set to take place in Antique from April 23 to 29, includes six players from BTTHS, including Rhean Hebraica Almendralejo, Kiesha Dazzie Bedonia, Shane Carmona, Nohlin Jenniper Jundana, Joan Marie Monares, and Marianne Sotomil.
BTTHS Vice Chair for Sports Jose Montalbo said the school is preparing for more tune-up games against the Region 7 selection./WDJ
