Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa formally relieved Police Senior Superintendent William Señoron as member of Police Regional Office-18 (PRO-18), yesterday morning.
In a document released by PRO-18 to members of the media, Dela Rosa ordered Señoron to report to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (PHAU) in Camp Crame, Metro Manila, effective March 28, 2017.
PRO-18 said the order was issued in order to prevent Señoron from influencing the ongoing investigation against him, after former Berya drug group member Ricky Serenio accused him of receiving P1.2 million in protection money from various drug lords in Negros Occidental.
The former Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) director has already denied the accusations, adding he would kill himself in front of the regional police office if the allegations are proven true.
PRO-18 Director Police Chief Superintendent Renato Gumban, meanwhile, said Serenio’s affidavits corroborated existing intelligence, and dismissed Señoron’s claims that Moises Padilla Mayor Magdaleno Peña had a hand in influencing his decision./WDJ
