Alleged robber nabbed in Bacolod City

A suspected robber was arrested by police after he victimized a woman at the corner of Rosario-Araneta Streets, part of Barangay 36, Bacolod City, late Wednesday evening.
Police identified the victim as 40-year-old Gina Rallos, a resident of Purok Everlasting, Barangay 34 of the said city.
Members of Police Station 1 (PS1) said the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Benzel Empase, allegedly declared a hold-up against Rallos by pointing a bladed weapon at her.
Empase forced the victim to hand over her shoulder bag and immediately fled the area.
Rallos, meanwhile, rushed to PS1 for help and the cops immediately conducted a follow-up operation which resulted in Empase’s arrest.
Police recovered the victim’s bag, containing an electronic gadget worth P15,000 and cash amounting to P4,400.
The cops also recovered a bladed weapon from the suspect, measuring 10 inches in length from tip to handle.
Empase is facing robbery charges, and is detained at PS1./WDJ
