STI-West Negros University (STI-WNU) won the STI National Basketball Tournament cluster eliminations, destroying STI-Aklan, 115-50. The win earns the Bacolod City school a spot in the STI National Basketball Tournament All-Visayas Finals, where they will meet STI-Ormoc on April 4.
The winner of that game goes on to represent the Visayas in the national tournament.
STI-WNU head coach Dennis Tumayan reiterated the tournament serves as a warm-up for the upcoming 2017 National Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Championships, set to take place in Iba, Zambales from April 22 to 29./WDJ
