Prior to his recent dismissal from office by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), after serving a dismissal order from the Office of the Ombudsman, ousted Valladolid Vice Mayor Romel Yogore, along with three other dismissed town officials, noted they have pending motions for reconsideration before the Office of the Ombudsman.
Along with Yogore, former Municipal Treasurer Cherryl Aguirre and Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) members Joseph Alfonso Manayon and Daisy Galve also filed similar motions.
The dismissed vice mayor invoked the “Aguinaldo Doctrine,” also known as the Condonation Legal Doctrine, wherein reelection to office is considered an acceptance of the official’s past actions, noting his election to three terms as mayor and his first term as vice mayor is “a clear expression of the people’s trust and confidence.”
