The Task Force Crusaders (TFC) recently entered the ongoing situation regarding the stalled reinstatement of Talisay City Hall employees, who were dismissed following the election that saw Neil Lizares III ascend to the role as city mayor. TFC National Deputy Commander John Chiong said the issue is about “employees that have nothing to feed their respective families.”
Previously, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) decided the dismissed employees, who were appointed during the prior mayoral administration of Eric Saratan, were to be reinstated, however, Lizares said they still have a pending motion for reconsideration before the CSC, which is why they have yet to implement the order.
“We will wait and obey whatever may be the outcome of the case,” said Kirk Ealdama, legal counsel to the mayor.
Chiong said, yesterday during a press conference, he wants the CSC to speed up the decision, adding, he will personally hand his request to CSC chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala.
Last month, Maria Corazon Robles, president of the Talisay City Government Employees for Reform, gave a press conference where she called the issue “political” and demanded Lizares reinstate the dismissed employees, adding, “The decision is clear.”/WDJ
