Kumpas Barangay, a barangay interaction program created by the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte, recently held their first event in Barangay Singcang-Airport in Bacolod City, where local residents aired their concerns to Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar, who will forward the information to the president.
Many issues were discussed throughout the course of the meeting.
In terms of providing livelihood for those who quit drugs, Andanar discussed the National Drug Rehabilitation Program, while a representative from the Department of Trade and Industry invited those who surrendered to police to take part in their entrepreneurship course and learn how to start a business.
When it came to federalism, he said it was up to the congress and senate.
Andanar also referred to congress in terms of a tax reduction plan, in an effort to allow citizens to keep more of their money, rather than paying it in taxes.
When asked about the end of contractualization, the communication secretary said the issue still needs to be studied.
During the activity, the secretary was joined by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Bacolod Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya, Barangay Singcang-Airport Captain Rosinie Distrito, and the heads of the different PCOO agencies./WDJ
