Negros Occidental Rep. Alfredo Benitez recently held meetings with barangay captains in Victorias City, EB Magalona, Talisay City, and Murcia where he discussed his initiative on advancing solar technology.
“There is a need to explore new ways, even new technology, to help bring down costs in running households and barangay facilities,” he said. “Harnessing solar power may provide some positive solutions.”
The congressman also noted ongoing validations surrounding projects on potable water, power supply, and street-lighting are taking place in Victorias City, Silay City, Talisay City, EB Magalona, and Murcia.
He also discussed the intensified registration campaign with the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program (NOCHP) in order to sign up more qualified members. Currently, there are 54,048 enrolled with NOCHP, which provides access to health services to those in far-flung and coastal areas.
Benitez is in his final term, set to end in 2019./WDJ
