According to United Sugar Producers Federation of the Philippines, Inc. (USPFP) President Manuel Lamata, after speaking with Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr., he learned the governor plans to bar the sale of Coca-Cola products at the upcoming Panaad sa Negros Festival and will disallow the company from sponsoring the event.
The annual festival is set to take place from April 22 to 30 at the Panaad Park and Stadium.
Speaking during a press conference, yesterday, at the National Federation of Sugarcane Planters building, Lamata said Marañon will be requesting the Provincial Board to pass a resolution to ban the said products during the festival.
The move has also been endorsed by Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson./WDJ
