Two injured following hit-and-run in EB Magalona

Two people were seriously injured after their motorcycle was bumped by a sugarcane truck along the national highway, part of Barangay Alicante, EB Magalona.
Police identified the victims as 40-year-old Pedro Francisco of Barangay Caduhaan, Cadiz City; and Mary Grace Elquizer, 20, of Bacolod City.
Traffic investigators from the EB Magalona Municipal Police Station said Francisco and Elquizer were riding on their motorcycle heading south when they were bumped by a sugarcane truck heading in the opposite direction.
Both victims were thrown off the motorcycle, while the truck sped away from the area.
Francisco and Elquizer were rushed to the Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City following the incident.
Police added Francisco’s left leg was amputated, while Elquizer sustained several bruises across her body.
EB Magalona police have yet to identify the truck and its driver, and are still probing the incident./WDJ
