According to Bacolod City Administrator, Atty. John Orola, organizers for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) canceled the meeting scheduled between March 14 and 16 in Bacolod City, but the second meeting, planned from March 21 to 25, is still confirmed.
Based on previous reporting, the first session was supposed to be conducted by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), while the second would be run by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).
Orola said eight committees are currently overseeing and helping the organizing committee.
He added the 180 delegates are expected to begin arriving in Bacolod City on March 18.
Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, meanwhile, asked the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) to ensure the security of the ASEAN meeting./WDJ
